VMRF (Deemed to be University) - A Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Deemed to be University offering wide range of programs integrated with research. VMRF DU engaging in specialised and interdisciplinary research in health, Allied sciences and Engineering disciplines and fosters an extensive network of cooperation with pioneering institutions at national and international level.

Research and Development Cell

The Office of Research is functioning to implement the VMRF-DU strategic plan by nurturing and promoting interdisciplinary research culture and encouraging collaborations at national and international level to achieve the highest ethical standards in research.

This office is the point of contact for the following issues:

• Mentoring and motivating the faculty to pursue research.
• Suggesting establishment/augmentation of new Research Infrastructure in all the institutes.
• Ensuring proper utilization of established research infrastructure.
• Providing Seed Money to Faculty every year: Complete processing of seed money activities including progress review.
• Providing Student Research Grants every year: Complete processing of Student Research Grants every year.
• Ensuring increased number of indexed Publications and quality publications are made by faculty through monthly data collection, verifying the authenticity and giving feedback every month to every institute.
• IPR: Ensuring increased number of patents are filed year over year, motivating the faculty to monetize the patents granted through productization or technology transfer.
• Ensuring increased number of indexed Books & Book Chapters are published by the faculty.
• Communicating periodically the call for proposals for extramural funding, handholding the faculty to apply for more quality proposals.
• Processing of Research Incentives claims.
• Encourage faculty to pursue multidisciplinary research through seed money funding.
• Conducting Research Capacity building workshops for the benefit of faculty.
• Convening Research Advisory Board meetings, Conducting University Research Committee meeting and reviewing Research output of all Institutes of VMRF (DU).
• Full time research Manpower recruitment in collaboration with HR and their progress review.
• Research Policy changes whenever required.
• Ensuring Research Ethics and research grievance redressal.
