Clinical Trials
Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) is offering the Higher Education in Health Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Law and Arts & Humanities.
The University has established the Department of Clinical Trials and conducting the Clinical Trials in its constituent institutions detailed below.
- Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College and Hospitals, Salem.
- Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospitals, Puducherry.
- Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College and Hospitals, Karaikal.
- Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem.
- Vinayaka Mission’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Salem.
All the above institutions have Institutional Ethical Committee approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), New Delhi. The faculty members are trained and certified as per the Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. The institutions have successfully completed many Clinical Trials and conducting the various Clinical Trials for reputed Pharmaceutical Industries and Research Organisations.
Prof.Dr.B.Jaykar
Prof.Dr.B.Jaykar, Director (Clinical Trials) graduated his Under Graduate in Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) in 1982, Post Graduate (M.Pharm.) in 1986 and Ph.D in 2002.
He has industrial experience in Liquid Orals and Tablets from 1982 – 1984. After Postgraduation, he joined the Teaching Profession in 1987 as Head of the Institution at Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tiruchirapalli and served till 1999 followed by Vinayaka Mission’s College of Pharmacy, Salem till 2017.
He was appointed as Registrar of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) in 2017 and completed his tenure in 2023. Then he was appointed as Director (Clinical Trials) from 2023.
He has published more than 200 Research Papers in reputed National and International Journals. He has received three Patents and published one Patent. He has the Scopus Index – 20 and H-Index – 35, Scopus Citation – 1418 (91 Articles) and Google Citations – 4141 (214 Articles). He has guided 27 Ph.D Research Scholars.
He has received various awards during his professional service ie., IDMA Gold Medal in 1982, IPA Fellowship, APTI Fellowship, Best Teacher award etc
He is serving as the Executive Member in Tamilnadu State Pharmacy Council, Chennai and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. He is also the Secretary, The Indian Association of Pharmacy Colleges, Chennai. He is the Life Member in the Professional Organisations IPA, IPGA, APTI, IACP etc.
