Dr. K. Manivannan

Dr. K. Manivannan, born in Salem, has built a distinguished career spanning over three decades in academic leadership. He completed his B.E. from IRTT, M.S. from BITS Pilani, and earned his Ph.D. at Pondicherry University, establishing a strong foundation in engineering education and research.

Dr. Manivannan began his career as an Associate Lecturer at CSI Polytechnic, Salem, from 1990 to 1996. He then served as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering at VIT University, Vellore, from 1996 to 2019—a remarkable 23-year tenure. During this period, he held multiple pivotal leadership roles: Assistant Controller of Examinations for 5 years, Controller of Examinations for 7 years, and Director of Admissions for 7 years at VIT, Vellore.

His expertise in admissions and examination management led him to serve as Professor and Director of Admissions at SRMIST, Kattankulathur, from 2019 to 2021. Subsequently, he served as Professor (HAG) and Director of Admissions at VIT University, AP campus, from April 2022 to September 2022, before joining Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation as Controller of Examinations.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Manivannan has already filed 9 patents and published more than 25 research papers in Scopus-indexed journals. He has guided 6 Ph.D. students, with 1 successfully completed, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing research talent alongside his administrative responsibilities.
