From Radiology to Revolutionising Education
Dr. Sharavanan Shanmugasundaram was born in Salem, Tamilnadu in 1967. He completed his high school studies at Holy Cross Matriculation School, Salem, before pursuing his passion of becoming a Medical Specialist in the field of Radiology. He earned his basic degree in Medicine (MBBS) at Mangalore University, Karnataka, and his postgraduate Masters in Radiology (MD Radiology) at Bangalore University, Karnataka.
Having achieved his academic goals, Dr. Sharavanan embarked on his career goal: to be a leading entrepreneur in the field of education. He chose education as it uniquely allows entrepreneurship and service to mankind to be pursued simultaneously.
Today, Dr. Sharavanan serves as the Chairman of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust (TKVTSSMEC Trust) and the President of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Trust. He also served as the First Vice-Chancellor of the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), playing a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s academic and administrative framework.
